A- The timing within the calendar year may be related to the position and sighting of the Star of the East (as extrapolated back 2000+ years ago). Keep in mind that there were several adjustments made to the Julian calendar, since its adoption around 45 BC, so dates - even seasons - have shifted, over the years.
B- "Luke 2:1-7 mentions a tax census ordered by Augustus Caesar. The census records were eventually taken to Rome. Cyril of Jerusalem (348-386) requested that the true date of Jesus’ birth be taken from the census documents. He reported that the date he was given from these documents was December 25. Unfortunately, these records are no longer available." [1]

No, and no where in the Bible does it give any date as to when the birth of Jesus was.
yes, it does matter...
The New Catholic Encyclopedia acknowledges" "The date of Christ birth is not known. The Gospels indicate neither the day nor the month...According to the hypothesis suggested by H. usnener... and accepted by most scholars today, thee birth of Christ was assigned the date of the winter solstice (December 25th in the Julian calendar, January 6th in the Egyptian), because of this day, as the sun began its return to northern skies, the pagan devotees of Mithra celebrated the dies natalis Solis invicti (birthday of the invincible sun) On Dec. 25th, 274, Aurelian had proclaimed the sun-god Principal patron of the empire and dedicated a temple to him in the Campus Martius. Christmas originated at a time when the cult of the sun was particularly strong in Rome."
Again No, the Bible does not say that Dec.25th is the Birth of Christ.
DECEMBER 25TH IS NOT A CELEBRATION OF THE SON BUT THE SUN.

No... the date is not for us to know... it is for us to learn about and come to know The One who is The Way, The Truth, and The Live. Jesus the Christ
The date was picked to fit the cycle of festavals at the time around 400ad or so... I can't remember the exact date... some say it was to take over a pagan day... and there is some truth in that... but there is no real pagan connection... as every other day of the year has some connection to some pagan event or ritual or something... given how many "pagan" societies there have been over the centuries.

No, it does not state the actual day that Jesus was born. However, it does go into detail about the condition surrounding him. I celebrate Christmas as Jesus' birthday and teach my children the reason. This is what is most important. As long as my children know why we are here, I am okay with celebrating Dec. 25th as Jesus' birthday. Thank you and may GOD bless.

It is believed that no one know the real date of jesus birth right now, so i think one of the popes from long ago, has claimed december 25 to be the day to celebrate the birth of christ.
Oh and the person who answered above me: Does Bethlehem have snow in the winter?? I dont think so. Bethlehem is where jesus was born. And Once you see a nativity set, you dont see snow, because it was in Bethlehem where there is no snow there like florida.

I'm pretty sure the date comes from several of the pagan rituals from which we got a lot of the celebration of Christmas. But, no, there is no recorded date for Jesus Birth. Most camps either believe he was born in fall (September) or Spring (March).

It's just an estimation, not fact. so, no, the Bible doesn't say that. In fact, there is more and stronger proof that Christ was born closer to October 11th or somewhere. Again, It's still just an educated guess.
