If there is any way to contact the new family, I would call and ask if it is OK to come over and say good-bye..Your dog will remember the love she got from you forever..You are still in her heart.
this happens with the kid's who raise dogs for the Guide dog foundations (through 4-H)..They become very attached to their pups, even knowing that the pup has to go to a home where it is needed most.
However, the 4_H programs allow the kids to see their dogs later, or at least receive pics and letters from the new and greatful owners..

Learn how to spell and send it a letter.

The dog does not care if you did not say goodbye.
