I recently went into a rental home that im moving into/remodeling. The people who lived there before left a lot of stuff behind. And in one of the rooms on the inside of the doorway there is a bundle of thin sticks (a little burnt on the right side) with red fabric around it. I want to know the meaning for this, what religion/beliefs this comes from.....before I should removie it (if I should)? HELP!

It could be bundled sage. Some people believe that smudging clears negative energy. Smudging is where you burn sage throughout your home. Common practice with Wiccans or Native Americans. I don't think the red string would have any significant meaning if its sage. The smell sage emits is a musky pleasant odor. I use sage incense, because I love the smell!

Its white magic and they're suppose to be tied to the back of the door. Its to keep out evil spirits.
