I was on a double date and my date and my friend's date started talking about how sexy certain celebrities were. Like that Antonella Barba girl or singer Beyonce were so hot. It made my friend and I mad. The guys said that we were being moody. My friend and I thought that they were being jerks. Who is right, us or the guys?

A classic argument.

Boys will be boys, my dear. You can't stop guys from talking about how beautiful some girls are--celebrities or not. As a confident woman, you should be able to say--"yes, Beyonce is a beautiful woman with a lot of talent."

To your advantage--they are talking about celebrities who are untouchable to us commoners. Your dates will probably never get within a football field's distance of these ladies, so why sweat their comments? They're just words!

However: It goes too far when the boys start talking about what kind of sexual positions they would like to try with these women... Then you need to tell them they've crossed a line, and you are allowed to be angry with them at that point.

If both of you where on a double date than you two should be good friends.Instead of getting mad why not approach this subject from a diffrent point of view? do as they did and talk amongst them how "sexy" male celberties are. They will fell a similar way to what you felt when they spoke of female celeberties causing them to stop. If they do continue to talk and about males, watch out they arent on a date with who they were supossed to be but with each other. Bot were wright depending on how you see things.

All I have to say is the guys were totally WRONG! This topic so pissses me off! IF ALL WOMEN AND MEN HAD THE MONEY THEY HAD ,WE WOULD ALL LOOK THAT GOOD EVERY DAM DAY! GET OVER IT GUYS - EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON T.V. AND IN MAGAZINES IS SOO MADE UP AND AIRBRUSHED.....AKA........FAKE!!!! When they go home and wipe off the 5 feet of makeup - all the women look like the rest of us. Same for the men, so many famous people have "lighting specialists" for when they have interviews so you don't see there blemishes. Besides looks aren't the only thing that should matter, if those guys are just into looks they need to grow up.

You are right. It's disrespectful to you. If your on a date the guy should be making you feel like you are the most beautiful woman in the world. Maybe you should find a guy that's a bit more sensitive. Even if it's 'OK' to talk about that, when you said it bothered you, they should have apologized.

The guys were acting like immature, insensitive idiots! Completely rude to be out with a woman and sit there talking about how hot other women are......even if they were only talking about celebrities.

Lighten up girls. They won't be dating either of those two 'stars' any time soon. You were feeling threatened because the conversation wasn't about the both of you, that's all. I'm sure the two of you are delightful, join in the editorializing on the celebs, they are easy targets and it's fun.

Personally I don't see a problem with men talking about celebs being hot...what I have a problem with is the fact that these men did not respect you or your girlfriend when you said you did not feel comfortable with their discussion. The subject matter isn't the issue its when they did not stop when you asked them to...

Boys will be boys and it's OK to look.

We all have our fantasy celebs...just some of us have a little more class than to speak and drool over them on a date.

Next time, start talking about how hot you think Brad Pitt (or whoever your dream guy is) and see how they react. If they say something, just tell them you wont if they wont.

It's ok to be bothered by it but you shouldn't be mad.
They may not be jerks but they are somewhat disrespectful.
If you ever go on a date with them again start talking about guys u think are hot : )

I don't see it as that big of a deal, it's not like they were talking about someone at the next table over, or someone that they would ever be able to get. You should've just started about talking about male stars you find attractive...
