we took her out the other day and all was well ahe had a fab little run playing with my two boxers. However once we got her home about an hr later she was going mad - running all over the house and she kept kicking her feet behind her as some dogs do trying to cover their scent. She also kept on biting her feet as if something was irritating them and trying to lick her bum she was in some kind of discomfort. Any idea's she seems fine now but it was a bit worrying as we couldn't calm her down?

My last pup did this at 11 months of age.

She was over tired, causing her muscles to ache. She couldn't sleep and kept kicking out with her back legs. Try not to over exercise your pup.

It was just like "pins & needles" for her. Try to lay your dog down and gently massage her legs. She'll be fine in a few hours

I also have three boxers. They are hyper! She may have done too much and her muscles were tired and tingling.
It does almost sound like she had something on her that was irritating her skin. Maybe a warm bath would get anything off her that is bothering her, sooth her muscles and also calm her down.

I had read somewhere that you don't want to over exercise puppies, it's not good for their bones.

My 2 dogs this aswell,it takes them ages to settle down.I dont think its any discomfort, its because there still hyped up so to speak, when they come home it takes them time to relax again. Its normally if they have been for a run or got excited playing with other dogs.Dont worry about it and just keep an eye on it.

The others are right, she sounds as if she was over tried, over excited & maybe has pulled a muscle. I never let puppies play too much with bigger or older dogs, their bones aren't fully developed, neither are their muscles or ligaments & it's all too easy for them to damage themselves, unfortunately.
