An 8 yr old that is 4' 4" is in the 75% for height, so from 50-75% in weight a boy could be from 50-62 lbs. This is not hard and fast, but a guideline.

Just an FYI, but Pennsylvania has a law requiring booster seats until 8 yrs. or 80 lbs. I assume that's a fair benchmark, at least the high end, for weight - they wouldn't pick an arbitrary number.

Looks like just about 65 pounds. Check out this site. It might help. Also, you should call the pediatrician's office and ask the nurse there to give you some insight.
