If I wanted to take up bird watching, where's the best place to look for a bird's nest?

I live in townhouse complex in the city, there are some pigeons that live in the complex, but that's about it.

Anyone got any advice for this?

Bird watchers do not look for bird nests. Your state Audubon Society can suggest places to watch the birds. Do not take a baby bird from a nest. It will die. Do not take an egg and try to hatch it and raise the bird, it will die. It is also a violation of Federal Law

Most birds like to build their nests in trees. Go to a local park and keep an eye out for where birds tend to go and leave from. Some birds will build a nest under a porch on a ledge by the eave if there is one. You might want to clear your presence with the homeowner if you find one of these. Most birds do not build a nest on the ground.

Pigeons generally live on top of roof tops.

I hope this doesn't have anything to do with you wanting to take an egg or chick and raise it yourself without your parents knowing.
