Here's one: ladies and gentlemen, I stand here before you all a broken man. I have endured this whole, silly charade called a wedding and I now begin my life of servitude to a woman that wouldn't even let me pick out what color napkins to be used for the reception. She has bitched, cried, sulked and pouted for months planning this wedding which we will both be paying for for the next five years. I now go willingly, slumped shoulders and shuffling feet, towards the next ten years of complaints, witholding sex, no more friends, no more television and no more fun until the day she realizes she never actually wanted to BE married. She just wanted a wedding. After her many, many affairs she will blame me and take everything I own in the divorce and then spiral into years of acting like a two-dollar whore living on the waterfront and sleeping with all my friends. May God have mercy on my damned soul.

My husband didn't do a speech but I guess it's not unheard of. Check the site below. In the middle of the page there's a green box with "Groom Toasting tips"

You don't have to give a speech. We gave a small speech at the rehearsal dinner thanking our parents as well as everyone there for being a part of our big day but that's about it. Your wedding day is your day, your time to be pampered so just relax and enjoy it!!!

This is your wedding, if you want to make a speech, make one. I would thank both your parents if they are present. Make sure you tell your bride loudly in front of everyone how much you love her. Thank those who came to the party for celebrating you big day with you and for making more memorable by their being their. If you are blessed enough for your grandparent to attend maybe something special about them would be nice. Let's face it, if they are still alive and married we know who set the example that you feel able to follow. Good luck.

If you type in grooms speeches on ebay they have loads that you can download usually. My partner has got his off there and has tailored it to suit us, it has worked really well and is very funny! If you want me to send a copy to u then I have no prob doing that.

Best man toasts the couple first. Then it is polite and newly-customary for the groom to make a short speech. First you say Thank you to your best man for being with you today. then you say " I realize that I'm the luckiest guy in the world today. Not only did Suzie agree to marry me but her family has accepted me with open arms. I thank them for their support and promise to do my best to make their daughter happy. And I thank my own parents for giving me the wisdom to choose this wonderful woman. Please join me in a toast to our parents. And now I'd like to propose a toast to the lovely ladies who helped Suzie make this day perfect - to the bridesmaids."

Just make sure you thank everyone for making it on the day, and the bride's father for giving you his daughter's hand. Let your best man shine, unless of course you know something he would rather you did not reveal about him! Cheers
