I switched to Firefox when I had a PC and use it now on my Mac, but it seems so slow so I wondered if switching to Safari, the Mac browser would be faster.

To my knowledge, no well-done browser speed comparisons have been published for a couple of years now, so they are not much use to us. The truth is that Firefox, Safari, and Opera are all fast browsers. Which one is the fastest is less important, in my opinion, than which one has the features you want and like. If Firefox seems too slow to you, by all means, try something else and see if it seems speedier to you, but if you just think something else out there might be faster, I'd recommend you stop stressing about speed and keep using what you know and love. In my experience, none of them blows me away with significant speed improvements over the others.

Safari 2.x is faster than Firefox 2.x - but is slower than Firefox 1.x. Benefits of using Firefox 2 over Safari 2 are that the Mozilla engine is newer - so it works with new web technologies like Yahoo's new online mail system, VeriSign's Extended Validation SSL certificates and Gmail's chat console.

Different people claim different browsers are faster than others etc. I think it all comes down to user preference, though a lot of it probably has to do with the machine you're running on.

I would say use Safari for a while and see if it seems faster to you.

Safari seems a lot faster to me. It's a powerful browser, in terms of RSS and working with Bookmarks.

Hi dad, Safari is much faster than Firefox. I have always realized that. I do not know why. I have never liked Firefox that much. Use firefox, though, because you have everything stored on there for your website and it is good with bookmarks.
