This is something that has worked for me while I am on diets: Eat small portions of the food that you like. Buy a Hersheys. Eat only a few bites, and that should sustain your craving. Afraid of gaining weight after that? Do a few sit ups. If your will power is even less than, then buy some tasty protein snacks that resemble your own faves. These protein bars are low in carbs and calories and you should be able to find them in Walgreens or Cosco.

My friend is also trying to lose weight, so I have become her buddy. She texts me or calls me whenever she is having too strong of a craving. If you can't do this for your friend, suggest to her that she find someone who can. Also, have her look into replacement foods...for example, my friend loves sweet food, but she also ate cookies and donuts and so on. Now she'll have a mug of tea with a teaspoon of honey and then a special k bar. A tablespoon of peanut butter can be a good substitute for a chocolate bar. Suggest to her to explore these options. Good luck!

I lost weight by using a tea called Yerbe Mate. A pharmacist actually told me about it. I added some Vanilla flavored tea with it and I lost 10 pounds (to my normal weight of 118). It wasn't alot of weight, but it definitely curbed my appetite and I didn't stress about losing weight, it just happened. With the vanilla tea added it was like having a snack, so I didn't want the cookies.

Keep low calorie food with her at all times so when she goes out, instead of buying chocolate bars and poutine, she has healthy things like crackers, or carrot sticks to eat. Also, she should try to keep tempting food out of her house, or room as much as possible and try to keep healthy foods on hand
