Time outs, firm talking to, taking items away, sending to their room to think about it and last but not least, spanking.

when it comes to picking up their toy, if they don't do it, take them away and put them some where they can see them. tell the kids that when they do what you tell them to, they can get one back. and let them know that if you pick it up you put it up and they wont get anything new until you don't have anything for them to get back. then just go to the dollar store and get little thing for them to pick. that has worked for me and i have a 10, a 7, a 5, a 4, and a 9 months old. it stares with their toys and then help with every thing else.

I used to yell. My daughter, now 12, started tuning me out every time my voice would raise.

Now I lower my voice instead. Sometimes almost to a whisper. She really has to listen to hear what I'm saying. It's much more effective if I want her to hear what I'm trying to get across.

The down side is, it takes a lot of self control on my end.

spankings, 5 across the eyes, and if it's just something little a thump on the 4head just backhand them if they get too unruly, that's the problem today ppl are afraid to hit their kids if my nephew or niece cry in the store because I didn't buy them something they want I backhand them and go put them in the car

Five across the eyes works pretty well.
