Where can I find a site for retreats/family gatherings in Southern California?

Question

It needs to be outdoors, preferably garden and pleasing to the eye, and needs to have room for 40 people to mingle comfortably. Overnight accommodations are not necessary, but would be preferred for 10 people.

I am looking for the garden-home feeling.

Preferably not in Big Bear, since it's a long drive. We would like to find a location no more than 2 hours from Riverside.

Try The Huntington in San Marino (toward Pasadena)---no overnight accommodations there however...
