Our cat loves stretching up the screen and pawing at the snooker balls when the player cues. Even the referee gets a tap with her paw! Any the ball goes done the pocket, is then looked for behind the set or on the floor.

When the European skating was on she kept trying to catch the skaters boots.

Superbikes has her with a front row seat, moving her head from left to right.

Adorable and so amusing - don't you just love 'em?

Not only do mine chase the balls across the screen, one of them likes to watch the dog shows (Westminster, Eukanuba and those type) and follows certain breeds across the screen. He prefers small dogs and we have learned to put a chair in front of the tv so he can watch without straining his neck.

He has never been exposed to dogs, just cats, and is an indoors cat only so we have yet to figure out his fascination with dogs.

Yes, all the time. The favourite is to sit on top of the telly and bat the ball (or sometimes player) as it goes past where he can reach. He also has a habit of attacking the mouse arrow on my pc screen. F1 doesn't get attacked but the head fly's about trying to watch them zoom past.

Glad its not just my daft moggie

yes, mine does, but only sometimes. the game has to be quite active. He also tried to catch a bird once... A BBC documentary with very realistic view and squeecking noises from the chicks and my cat thought he was going to catch the best meal ever!! I have never In my life seen a funnier look on my cat's face when I jumped to catch it and came back down without it... Ah! priceless...

After the first moon landing as we watched the spaceship return to earth our cat was fascinated. After a while she got on top of the TV, leaned over, and tried to catch it. Of course she fell off

Of course. Cats love the look of something flying around. Especially something that is small. There natural insticts are to claw anything quickly moving because in the wild, they ate quickly moving creatures. Like MICE!! In their eyes, the ball is like a mouse running around, they see it, but they can't catch it!!

My cat watches the BBC wildlife programs with great interest. He also chases the cursor when I'm on the computer, but he's not into football.
