Majority of it is from excitement from the sound of things. I don't know what causes the loss of sphincter control but they do. Another reason could be the fact that she may be a little intimidated by having a relatively unfamiliar person towering over her. Imagine if you were that small and someone the size of you or I standing over you. The best way to help her adjust in either case is repetition training. Having her constantly exposed to new people or situations is an excellent training tool provided she doesn't get agressive when uncomfortable. Many stores like pet's mart and pet co will allow you to bring her in. If it seems more because of excitement, tell your guests not to pay her any attention including touching her until she calms down some.

Try asking people not to greet her for a few minutes when they first come in the room. This should give her some time to relax a little before she meets them. Maybe this will keep the excitment level low enough that she will not pee.

My dog did this when he was a puppy, but by about 18 months he had stopped having this problem. They can't really help it. Don't think they are being bad. Just hope she can grow past it in a few months/years. It will probably get better someday.

it's natural for minis to do that. they get so excited that they can't hold their bladders. you could get her a doggy diaper or pee band. i don't think you can stop it though. consult your vet.
