One of my cats Lotty is very nosy! She always has to know whats going on. Like on saturday I was trying to watch the eclipse with my telescope and she was jumping all over it and when i sat down to look through it she jumed on my lap and headbutted me to stroke her, her sister Tootsie is a little bit nosy especially when it comes to food she thinks its for her and she begs! so I have to put her out when we are eating dinner! I hate having to shut them out aswell because they jump on the window and stare at you and cry! So I always let them back in through guilt! Is any of your cats nosy??

LOL thats cats for ya, I have 4 and all of them are nosy!! None of them can handle a door that is closed they have to know whats on the other side, if I am trying to do something like read a paper, flyers or book they have to come right up and lay right on whatever I am trying to read, same on the computer they have to see what I am doing constantly and try to jump in my lap and headbutt my face etc.. one of my cats is nosy about food too, he is the fatty of the bunch, if I am in the kitchen he comes in and follows me around meowing in his tiny voice as if to say.. What are you doing? anything for me? wheres the food? what are you going to eat?? If I give the dogs a treat, the cats hear it and they all come running to the table where they stare at me wistfully and meow for their treats..lol I cant go to the bathroom alone, my cats are always there its like they are constantly saying "what are you doing?" where are you going? they are soo nosy any bags, boxes, purses, etc they have to check it out, any visitor they have to see who it is and they recognize the people they know too. 2 of my cats are afraid of strangers and wont come for a while, but one cat loves strangers and anyone really she has to visit with guests she is obsessed!! lol They are incredibly curious and jealous of attention too.. if I am doing anything that involves not paying attention to them they have to bug the crap out of me, whatever I do and wherever I go they are right there sticking their nose in it... in the cupboard, in the bathroom, on the computer, the shower, everything!! the only time they arent bugging is when I am vacuuming!! lol all cats I have ever known were like this and my dogs are just as bad, but its what I love about them they wouldnt be cats if they werent curious and interested in everything going on, thats what makes them cats!
PS what I want to know is why they always have to steal everyones chair!! If you move for 2 seconds to get a drink etc turn around and there they are all cozy in your spot like they were always sitting there!! looking at you like "What?" ..lol

Yes my kitten is VERY nosy! He always likes to be around me...no matter what room I go to, he has to follow, and if I'm working on paperwork, he tried playing with the pen or whatever I'm using or working on. If I'm on my laptop he wants to be right there by the keys, and if I'm on the phone, he has to be right there listening to the conversation, as if he knows exactly what we're all talking about hehe. It's very cute I think, but kind of annoying during dinner, so what I do is just feed him at the same time we are about to eat dinner, then that way he usually keeps to himself and his own food.

OMG YES! She is always right there "helping" when my fiancee was putting together some furnature she was right there in the way, and she steals things, like the screws and the plastic parts. She once fell in the bath tub while I was taking a bath, she is to big to sit on the side of the tub so she teeters then falls in. And she likes to stare at you, if I am doing anything thats not cat level, I will notice her just sitting there just watching me! so weird!

mine is and he would burn of his whiskers if I would put an open candle on the table. Haven't burned a candle in yeeeeaaars. he sticks his nose in the most unlikely places. the stove/hub, the closet, the waste basket... in the sack of potatoes just from the garden... any bag that is lying around... boxes that are too small for him he will try to get into anyway...
He is active and likes to smell everything. before we eat, the cat comes and smells it. never touches my food though. he just eats the things he gets for himself. never stole a piece of ham from my sandwich. doesn't even like fish! I think I must have the weirdest cat in the world. The only thing he will eat extra is a tiny piece of salami... the weird animal! But I protect him. He would probably learn before he kills himself with being curious, but I daren't take the risk...

If I sat in the middle of the floor and did nothing my cat would just walk on by, but the second I go near or touch anything he is right there, ususally trying to sit on top of it. In college when friends would come over to study he would always sit on top of whatever book they opened. He is constantly making me laugh! He also loves black clothing. If I lay out a skirt and turn my head for 5 seconds, he's on top of it, along with all his white hair-that's not quite so funny!

Just a while ago I was doing some gardening and every second, the cats were sticking their noses into everything. I love em! They think its all a game, they love me and want me to pet em and of course I do. I love cats. Two girl kitties, they give me little kisses right on the nose. How can anybody not love cats???

Let me start off with the old adage, curiosity killed the cat. I'm sure you have heard that one.
I'm not sure the right word is nosy for your cats, they are just curious about everything around them, and that is very natural. I would hate to have a cat that just sat there like a lump. That's the great part of having a cat vs a dog, they are always into things, always doing things, they want to be a part of your life. Right now Emily is trying to help me type, not always the best thing for your cat,but who cares, she's enjoying herself. I have two cats and they follow me around the house, and when they aren't following me they are following my husband. We have a real problem with Emily mostly, you open a door of a closet and in she goes to inspect. Pyewacket is a bit more reserved, she is mainly just interested in finding where the food is hidden, but she will search and search. But, she does spend a good part of her day at the window looking out, which is strange as we live on the 12th floor and I really don't know what she is looking at. But, if the doorbell rings, Pye is the first one at he door, all the delivery people know her by now. Unfortunately she also takes walks out into the hall to see if there is anything interesting going on out there. She also has to be the main point of any party we have. She will sit down, look around and decide who she will annoy first.
Now as far as food goes, Pyewacket only eats cat food, but Emily figures if it goes into my mouth why not hers. Lately we have been having fights over mozzeralla sticks. I have to cut off a piece of mine and feed it to her and pet her while I eat mine. this of course is not as bad as my cat Jonathan who loved corn on the cob and wanted to share mine. I would start at one end and he would try to start at the other end. Finally we just gave him his own ear of corn and he was happy.
I love it that cats are curious animals and into everything, it makes me laugh and keeps me amused for hours. Now could a dog do all of this, I don't think so.

My cat is bad nosy. If I go buy grocerys she comes running because she wants to see what is every bag. If i have a box sitting out she has to crawl inside and check it out. If I buy a new type of dog food she will tear a whole in the bag so she can taste his food. She is crazy.

All my cats are nosy. However, you might want to try and feed your cats at the same time you eat. This might cut down on the guilt feeling you have. It might make your cat feel better as well.

Not to bad, He usually comes around after taking a nap to see what I'm doing. He's really bad in the mourning though. If I don't get up and feed him he will yell, and then start doing bad stuff, like knocking over items in the room.
