Is There an Unforgivable Sin?
IS THERE a punishment worse than death? Yes, death without the hope of a resurrection because one has committed an unforgivable sin. Jesus said that there is a type of sin that “will not be forgiven.”—Matthew 12:31.
The Bible, however, describes God as being forgiving. Although men can be prone to hold a grudge and withhold forgiveness, God ‘forgives in a large way.’ (Isaiah 55:7-9) In fact, at great cost to himself, God sent his dear Son to earth to be a propitiatory, or covering, sacrifice so valuable that it could blot out our sins.—John 3:16, 17; Acts 3:19; 1 John 2:1, 2.
In due time God will resurrect many who have been guilty of serious sins but who will no longer be accountable for their past actions. (Acts 24:15; Romans 6:23) In fact, Jesus said that with the exception of the unforgivable sin, “every sort of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven.” (Matthew 12:31) So you may wonder, ‘What could be so terrible that it is unforgivable by God?’
Past the Point of Repentance
Jesus’ warning referred to willful and deliberate “blasphemy against the spirit.” There is no acquittal for this type of sin. “No, not in this system of things nor in that to come,” he added. (Matthew 12:31, 32) Those guilty of such sin will not be resurrected.
What is blasphemy against the spirit? It emanates from the heart, revealing a malicious attitude and intent. The purposeful intent to oppose God’s holy spirit intensifies the seriousness of this sin. To illustrate: In some parts of the world, the law distinguishes between murder in the first degree and murder in the second degree on the basis of intent and the way the murder was committed, and it limits capital punishment (death) to intentional or premeditated murder.
The apostle Paul was formerly a blasphemer but said: “I was shown mercy, because I was ignorant.” (1 Timothy 1:13) To sin against the holy spirit is to oppose it willfully. It involves a wicked heart condition that reaches the point of no return.

The only sin God does not forgive with his endless mercy is the right of another living being.
If you hurt another living being you take their rights.
This includes the smallest things like backbiting.
The reason God does not forgive this is because youre carrying the right of someone on your shoulders.
For God to forgive you, you must ask for forgiveness from the person you hurt and then repent.
You must do all you can to make up for the hurt youve caused.
This is why animal rights are so important, animals cant talk. When you take their rights, how are you gonna ask for forgiveness?
So this is the only thing God does not forgive with His omnipotence. Anything else, is between you and Him and He will surely forgive you eventually. But the bad deeds youve done towards other people, you need to make up for it somehow, by asking their forgiveness. Or else youre gonna have to pay for it in the hereafter.

The only unforgiveable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. As I understand it, it is speaking falsely about the work of the Holy Spirit, or something like that. Maybe it is attributing the work of the Holy Spirit as your own, because the Jewish teachers in Jesus' time accused Him of blasphemy for calling Himself God, so maybe it is taking the Holy Spirit's work as your own. Or maybe it is a mixture of the two. Either way, it's very bad and I would suggest you try avoiding it.

The unforgivable sin is blasphamy againt the Holy Spirit, and it can only be commited by God's elect. It is refusing to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through you, when you are delivered up before antichrist. It can only be commited at that time, and only by God's elect. Read in Mark chapter 13

According to the bible it is the only unforgivable sin. Turing your back on God and saying that you do not know him.

Actually, according alot of responses I have gotten "Doubt" is the only punishable sin. You can be redeemed for all other sins against God and humanity but if you doubt it then we are to believe we're going straight to hell.
Imagine: If Adolf Hitler sincerely accepted Jesus right before his death, according to Christians he would have been redeemed of all the agony and genocide that he committed.
I don't know..... I would like to believe that we are responsible in this life for how we act towards other people regardless. I believe the Karma system makes much more sense.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the only sin that is not forgivable. Some say that it is cursing the name of God, some say it is calling yourself God. There are many different forms of blasphemy, quite a few of which I am guilty of myself. See, there are different levels in heaven, so even if we have some unforgiven sin, we will still be allowed in but on a different level. We will be judged on our hearts. Those who have salvation in Jesus are washed clean by the blood. Matter of fact Jesus says we will be washed white than snow. Good Question.

Read Matthew 12:22-32
Matthew 12:22-32 Then a demon-possesed man, who was both blind and unable to talk, was brought ot Jesus. He healed the man so that he could both speak and see. The crowd was amazed. "Could it be that Jesus is the Son of David, the Messiah?" they wondered out loud. But when the Pharisees heard about the micracles, they said, "No wonder he can cast out demons, He gets his pwer from Satan,* the prince of demons." Jesus know their thoughts and replied, "Any kindom at war with itself is doomed. A city or home divided against itself is doomed. And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is fighting against himself. His own kingdowm will not survive. And if I am enpowered by the prince of demons,* what about your own followers? They cast out demons, too, so they will judge you for what you have said. But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you. Let me illustrate his. You can't enter a strong man's house then can his house he robbed!* Anyone who isn't helping me opposed me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me. "EVERY SIN OR BLASPHEMY CAN BE FORGIVEN-EXCEPT BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH CAN NEVER BE FORGIVE. ANYONE WHO BLESPHEMY AGAINST ME, THE SON OF MAN, CAN BE FORGIVEN, BUT BLESPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL NEVER BE FORGIVEN, EITHER IN THIS WORLD OR IN THE WORLD TO COME.
Every sin can be forgiven except those that associate the works of the holy spirit with the works of satan. People, be careful what comes out of your mouth cause you dont know how strong the tongue is.

It is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel According to Mark gives the definition:
"Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven their sins and whatever blasphemies they utter. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never have forgiveness, but is guilty of eternal sin." For they had been saying, "He has an unclean spirit." (Mark 3:28-30)
It is giving credit to the devil for the works of the Holy Spirit.
