O.K. My ex-girlfriend finished with me about a week ago. She said that she needed 2 weeks, so that 'i could get over her'. I have no plans to talk to her after that time, but am not sure yet, but feel pretty angry at the way she dumped me by text. Still see her around though (2/3 times a day). Is it always better to a)avoid her b)say hi to her and nothing more c) totally ignore her? My friend also has a meal for his birthday soon, she was invited because of me, how do I solve that one? (Only 5 people going!)

You sound young...who puts a time limit on when you should be over someone. Be single until you are a little more mature

I'm not sure what the problem is here...do you want her back or are you upset at the manner in which she ended the relationship. The bottom line is that you can't decide on how to move on because you don't know if you should stay away from her or continue to be cordial.

Hmmm, the best answer I can give to someone when going through a break-up is to do what is best for you. I can't tell you to be cordial when being cordial might not help you to heal...after all you are hurting inside. At this point who cares about being the bigger person...you can be the bigger person when you've gotten over the initial shock of how she ended the relationship. If you don't think you can handle seeing her then don't see her. Explain to your friend that you understand that the dinner is for him but you don't want to ruin his dinner by being among someone that you don't feel comfortable being around. Right now your sanity and your feelings are very important to you...so take care of them first.

People deal with break-ups differently...choose what's best for you.

Good Luck Hon.

i think that since you run into her several times daily that it is best to be cordial...politeness can never be a bad thing
as for the meal, talk to your friend about the fact that her attendng makes you uncomfortable. tell him/her that you are not going to go if she goes adn that is isnt anything against HIM, you just arent comfortable with it
