He should be ok this time, but surely don't let him make a habit of it. It supposedly stays in their stomachs and makes them feel full so they don't eat as much. It definately wouldn't be healthy.

Yeah, don't worry. My Golden Retriver swallowed a piece about 1 year ago. The next day out in the yard, I looked as she was going #2 and a beautiful bubble was coming out her back end. She got scared of it an snapped at the bubble and her face was a mess. It was more of a problem for me than the dog, I had to cut her hair to get the bubble gum off.

Short answer: Yes!
Long answer: Dogs eat all sorts of items they find out in the world on walks and such - most items will pass right through the digestive tract and out the other end. Hence the story about the dog blowing a bubble out his rump!! Good luck!

I hope so. One of my dogs used to get hold of a piece of gum now and then and it seemed to be okay. Keep an eye on him.

If it was a small piece it will pass normally if it was a very large piece watch for it if you don't see it in the stools in a few days contact your vet for some advice.

IT MATTERS ON THE BRAND OF BUBBLE GUM. I THINK TRIDENT GUM IS BUT I AM NOT COMPLETELY SURE

My dog has eaten gum before and was perfectly fine..I wouldn't worry about it.

my dog used to take packs of gum out of our truck and eat the whole pack. we took her to the vet and they said she would be fine. she did it all the time. dont worry.
