I am doing a paper on Muslim burials, and I did some research and found out that crying is not allowed at burials. Does anyone know why? Or know where I might be able to do some more research on this topic(Muslim Funerals)?

That's not true. I'm Muslim and so I live in a Muslim country and here everyone cries in the burials. They can sometimes faint too.

We are all human. No crying in a burial would be stupid.

I'm not sure why that rule is applied or if its true. I will have to research it. But a teaching in Islam is not to let oneself fall into saddness. Its ok to grieve but you should not let yourself fall deep into depression. Afterall, if the muslim was a good muslim they have great faith that he/she is going to paradise, a much better place then earth, so they should rejoice that that person has set out for paradise. After all, Allah/God knows best, if that person was not meant to die then, then Allah would not have allowed it.

Cuz they believe a man is a worldy being.. not a possesion of anyone.. God makes him come and go into the world.. so no one should feel terrible. A man belongs to God. thats the belief.

Crying not allowed?

Weeping is allowed, wailing and screaming and beating their chests is not.

See satan is tricky....
what happens when you cry.
Most of us get tenderhearted.
Muslims are not tender hearted...and they don't want there followers to connect with the Real God in anyway.

There is even a scripture that kind of says that.....it is...The Lord keeps your tears in a bottle....that is how close He is when we cry...putting our tears in a bottle....He wants us to cry{when we must}..it cleanses our Soul.
