Plagiarism (not spelled right) is an illegal attempt to copy someone elses work and say that you did it yourself.
like if were going to write a story and you looked on the internet for help and they had a story, instead of writing notes down from it, you copy the story, even just a couple of things in it and tell the teacher you wrote it.

Claiming that someone else's work is your own. So this would be copying word for word a paper off the Internet without saying where you got it; or reading a speech that someone else gave.
If you use information from a reference source (book, Internet, etc) you need to present it as a quote and and give the source.

Plagiarism is failing to state the source of ideas. So, even if you paraphrase, you must state the source of that idea. Otherwise, it's considered plagarism. GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.
