when I leave my tv on I have no problem getting the satellite signal, but when I power it off and back on again I have trouble getting the signal. It will take several minutes for the picture to eventually start to come in, and then it will be fine as long as I don't turn the tv off. I can't imagine what difference turning the tv off then on again would effect the satellite signal but it does in a huge way.

Here's a guess.....your satellite signal is a little tricky for your receiver to "find". Once it finds it and locks in, your TV can stay locked in and be happy. Once you turn off the power though, it may have to re-gather the signal, which might take it a bit. That's my guess, but of course, asking the experts is the thing to do.

I'll give another vote for: check your TV

I don't think it's your satellite signal. If you think that it's your satellite receiver, leave it on, go to the menu, press 6,1,1 to go to the signal check. If you still get a good signal while turning your tv on and off, somethings wrong with your tv (or your connections to your tv).
