That is one of the signs of a cult when they claim to have exclusive knowledge. Religion is man made. The difference between Christianity and any other religion is we claim our God lives inside of us. Christianity is not one denomination. The Body of Christ is made up of many different types of People. When he returns he will not come back for a denomination but for his church. The Church is invisible, it is spiritual. Be careful of any body that says they are the only way. Jesus said For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. If salvation came through being religious we would all be Jews.

The Jehovahs Witnesses put a lot of emphasis on their doctine that the (correct) name of God is Jehovah. This doctine is characteristic of Jehovah Witnesses, and deferentiates them from other churches. They also teach a lot about the New World when God reigns supreme. (I never met a Jehovah Witness that claimed he was perfect, but they are adamant in their religious convictions, and work together to help each other.)
There are many names used for God in both the Old and New Testaments. You might want to look up Names of God that are used in the Bible. There are 50 - 100 names (appalations) for God in the Bible. The point that becomes obsured by complex doctines: God want people to do good, be kind to their neighbors and live at peace with each other.
Apocalyptic theologies believe that the Apocolypse is necessary before this happens. ( You'll hear a lot about signs of the end times from these demonimations.) Jehovah Witnesses fall into this catagory.
It is my opinion that it is possible to start treating people nice NOW, and folow the basic teachings of the Bible. If enough people do this the Apocalypse will be put off and put off and put off with each new generation, this can go on and on and on!!!!!!!!
The Apocalypse (Book of Revelation) (same book) is all about judgement. It is surprising how few it takes to save the many. If Abraham could have found 10 righteous people in the city of Sodom and Gomorrah the city would have been spared!!!!!!!!

Because they think other religions are wrong and they want to help us.But I think they are some who have just waken up and didn't have too much experience .('cos we the Ortodox Christians have the experiance of Great saints (even saints emperors)and martyrs, who did miracles and to whom Jesus talked in loud voice and showing up.
I who am an Ortodox Christian say that Jehovahs Witnesses is wrong. They say Jesus is a made man , even if He is the Son of God. We the Ortodox and Catholics say that Jesus is not made by God, we say according to the Bible that Jesus is The Eternal Son of God , and it results Jesus is also God , obeyed to God the Father. So Jesus is also God , and having the eternal condition of God. We Ortodox and Catholics say that the third person from God exists , He is the Holly Spirit , so our God is ''The Holly Trinity''.
But we don't bother what other Christians think because we was the mother church and we know better from the saints martyrs.
Besisdes Jesus said:''I am the Truth, the Way and the Life''and only a God could say such things..because only a God could give life, so Jesus is also God, Son of God The Father . If He were made He couldn't be called so.
Actually it is better to have a half of God then have nothing. That is why we The Ortodox and the Catholics, shouldn't bother about Jehovas'witnesses or baptism or else..
e.g.
Hell is not false - Jesus talked about hell, as about something we must fear , not as about a simple death we don't fear too much .
Cross is not false , the cross exists- Jesus died on cross, and the cross has a power because God gave it , because wearing it we honour God and are sorry for His sufferings. So God gave the cross some powers, and those who honour Jesus can feel this power, and can see it with his own eyes. But they must wear the cross fulfilling the ten comandements not drinking, having sex outside marriage, etc.
Actually I never heard something insulting me - an Ortodox - from Jehovas'witnesses- but Isn't it enough that say Jesus Son of God is made ?How could Son of God be made ?So Jesus is eternal Son of God and also God .
See you.

1john 4:1 says many false prophets have gone into the world.
Now these teachings such as the cross, the trinity, hell fire, the earth will burn up, life after death. Are false teachings.
So therefore if you have false teachings why would your religion, or your pastor or w/e you "christians" call him. is false
Jehovah's witnessses do everything from the bible, the bible is the one book we abide by. Any teaching that we preach and follow is found in the bible. If you would take time to know your bible you would plainly see this.
Example, The bible tells that we shouldn't have premarital sex, most witnesses abide by this, all my friends i know are virgins, because this is what Jehovah God says. But other religions you can be practicing any and everything and the church will not care, and the members will not care as long as you are paying that money.

We Witnesses don't claim to be perfect people. And we don't put a focus on saying all other religions are wrong - we put a focus on what is right. If the Bible contradicts something in your beliefs, rather than research it, most people consider it an attack on their religion when we point it out. Let me give you an example:
The Our Father prayer, found at Matthew 6:9-13. Many religions repeat this prayed over and over, completely ignoring 2 verses earlier (quoted from King James, for neutrality) Mat 6:7 "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking."
Yet this very prayer has been turned into a vain repetition. The command was "Don't say the same things over and over... for example, you could say..." Yet, this prayer, given as an example, is taken and said word for word over and over.
As a Witness, we point things like this out to members of our religion (and others) to prevent them from falling into that trap. Many traditions/tendancies of churches today are either somewhat off, or entirely in contrast to the Bible's teachings... Our focus, rather than showing other religions to be wrong, is to show people what is right. (Unfortunately, showing people what is right often tends to reflect badly on their own religion)

Look at it like a business, if your a good salesman, you really believe in your product, and no other similar product can be any better. So if your going to spread the word, and bring others into your fold, you need to sell your belief system, it has to be the best.
I think most religions say this about the others. The Koran says that all religions are to be looked upon as brothers.
It used to be that all of the religions co-existed in peace and would discuss the differences between their respective beliefs. They learned some much more.
Animosity destroyed that peace, and eats away at humanity to this day.
The JW's, are easy to deal with. You see, as soon as you open your mouth, they are ready to engage in conversation, and will try to convince you that they are right.
I deal with them like this, as soon as I answer the door, and they identify themselves, I say nothing, not a word, not a uh-huh, nothing. Just stare at them. Why? Because as soon as you open your mouth, they try to engages you in conversation, only to steer you into their belief system. There is nothing you can say that will stop this, so say nothing. Then they cannot find a point of interest in which to engage you into conversation.
On the other hand, if I have the time, I do enjoy an exhaustive analysis of many ontological topics, then I try to engage them.

Having once been a member of their church, I would have to say that they just happen to be more vocal about it than other religions. The Catholic religion, the Baptists, the Latter-Day Saints--they all believe they're religion is the "true" one. The JW's don't even call themselves a religion. They will tell you that they are an organized bible study group. No religion is perfect; and any religion that tries to say otherwise should have you running for the hills.

In my opinion it's a cult indoctrination process needed to hold they're members and keep them from leaving. Everyone on the outside is doomed to hell. They also have a seige mentality in which outsiders are often seen as a threat to their salvation.
That's the difference between a cult and any loose knit church. People join and leave typical churches all the time, but you don't leave a cult easily without suffering a lot of anquish and emotional punishment. Don't think so? Join Scientology. You'll never get out.
PS You can make any "bible" say anything you want it to by taking passages out of context and distorting it's meaning to reinforce your hidden agenda for control over the church members. It's really not about religion at all. Its about mind control and the loss of your free will to the cult leaders.

Charles R. Russell the founding father of Jehovah Witness was raised a protestant in Pennsylvania. Russell said there were certain things that he didn't like in the Bible such as the teaching about hell, eternal judgment and the Trinity. He said the Trinity wasn't rational and he couldn't understand it. So as usual Russell developed his own theology or false doctrine as Apostle Paul would call it. He even said Jesus returned as a spirit in 1914 just to him to help set up his organization.
Isn't that amazing!!! The first time Jesus came to earth He made sure He had 12 witnesses to verify what He said. But Charles Russell made many predictions and died in 1916 as a false prophet, but Joseph Franklin Rutherford picked up the false doctrine and kept going with it for money's sake.

We don't think we're better than others, or have secret knowledge. What it amounts to is we strive to learn about the Bible, and offer to share what we have learned. As to thinking our beliefs are right, the way I see it, any monotheistic person, should believe that their beliefs are correct.
