What I mean, is:
I know that no man can serve 2 masters. With 1 body. But being told that we have at least 2, the physical & spiritual, couldn't I just as easily be a Christian Atheist?

Let's look at this further:
The Bible relates that ONLY the spirit is capable of seeing God, & it is stated that the flesh wars against the spirit. We are told of the "lusts of the flesh". It seems that sin is merely physical then.

Being that the physical body CANNOT see God in any manner, & that we can ONLY worship God in SPIRIT (not flesh) & in truth, isn't it highly logical that:

My flesh cannot see God, or know God, is a bit Atheistic in fact, even while my spirit does see God & knows he is, & is saved due to worshiping God in SPIRIT & in truth.

Perhaps this is why my flesh wars so against my spirit? Obviously, the Bible would never record them being enmity with each other without good reason?

So, I am a Christian Atheist, only my body dies & goes to hell? My spirit knows God & goes to heaven?

Additional details:

I struggle with atheism physically, not knowing if God is or isn't.

Only my spirit, which knows God, is capable of knowing God & being saved, since "No flesh shall enter the kingdom of heaven".

My spirit is saved, & is Christian. My Atheistic flesh really gives me battles sometimes though.

Remember, these are points are non-conflicting as if the flesh were saved, God would say so.

The flesh is Atheistic, not being able to see God.
ONLY my spirit can see God, so the Bible says...

You seem confused as to what it actually means to be either a Christian or an Atheist. An Atheist is someone who does not believe that a god or gods exist, while Christians believe in a god who has manifested Himself in the form of three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Because this belief in God would imply that that person believes a god exists, it is impossible for a Christian to be an Atheist or for an Atheist to be a Christian.

Sort of.

I think an Christian who is an atheist must believe in the message of Jesus and that he existed but at the same time not believe in a deity (thus atheism.)

Thus, Christians who believe Christ existed but that God does not, or that God NO LONGER exists, can be atheists.

I say that, mind, as neither a Christian nor an atheist.

Your body and spirit doesn't go to 2 different places. If you don't know, when Jesus comes back in the air to take the church away the body goes with them and when the dead in Christ (their physical bodies)rise they go to heaven with their spirit. The story of the rich man and Lazarus the rich man was in hades and his spirit wasn't in heaven. Your spirit can only see God because your spirit is eternal and your body isn't. You would melt if you stood before Gods full glory but your spirit wouldn't. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. Satan is a spirit and can only use our spirit to do physical thing. If we listen to him. Our flesh loves sin but our spirit ,if your a christian, will tell us that having sex (for instance) before marriage is wrong but our flesh wants to. In accordance with Ephesians we wouldn't wrestle with our flesh if satan and his demons wasn't there tempting us. This may turn you off completely to what i just said but what you stated was the most ignorant comments i have ever heard of.

I am both an atheist and a Christian. I don't believe in the existence of a being that could be described as God. That makes me an atheist. However, I think that religion is not about belief, but symbol. I am comfortable with the symbol and ritual of Christianity, and I can most adeptly express my worldview with that set of symbols. Thus, I identify myself as a Christian.

ummmm...
Isnt that Gnostic? I dont thnk thats Canonical Christianity (i.e. Flesh-Bad, Spirit-Good), its kind of heretic. And flesh is just a useless lump of water and carbon, it cant go to hell.

Then again, rotting in the ground would be hell.

You make nice philosophical points though.

I don't think it works that way. our Spirit in Christ can choose for our weakness in the flesh.. but excusing our flesh from the equation is too far fetched to be right.... our Spirit is who is in control... our flesh cannot think or choose, it just 'feels' or 'does'... what our thoughts choose.... so you are either one or the other, but both isnt possible

I'm pretty sure that since Christians believe God and jesus are one in the same, that you can't be a Christian Athiest.
Anyway, a "christ" comes from God...so that defies sense.

Does your spiritual brain and your physical brain constantly argue? I don't see how you can be Christian at the same time rejecting it, unless you have a multi-personality disorder.

I know atheists who continue to attend Mass for the social network and because they find the ritual and atmosphere of reverence comforting. I don't know any atheists attending fundie churches except to study the wild life.

You're making this more complicated than it really is. There is no such thing as 'spirit' - You are your body, and that is all. If you believe a god exists then you're not an atheist.
