it is because of the way their nasal passages are, dogs with a turned up snoot tend to have snoring problems, like boxers, pits, english bulldogs, etc. it isn't harmful to them just really noisy.

I have had a Pug and a Bostie. when they were with me, they did snore while sleeping..sometimes hard to hear TV over the snoring! I found it endearing (most of time) but sometimes annoying..
When they were gone..I really missed the snoring....sigh

It is because of the structure of his head. Short snouted dogs do snore.

Because of their snouts... no other reason
It is also the people with little pug noses that snore so unhumanly loudly...
Whereas most would think it was those of us with the large snot lockers... hahahha but it tain't.. (smiles & nodding)

It might be because their nose is so short and scrunched up that the air passages are naturally more narrow than other dogs.

Because they have been bred over the yrs. to have their muzzles pushed back and it interferes with their breathing to a certain extent.
