my ex told me he needs a state Id to take our daughter on an airplane.

He needs an ID, the daughter does not. The only time this is different is if he is taking her out of the country. Do they even make ID's (besides passports) for 4 year olds? Bring along a birth certificate copy just in case, but I don't think I've ever looked twice at a child traveling.

No...birth certificate is fine and not even all airlines ask for it. However, if you are traveling overseas/anywhere that requires a passport, the child will need a children's passport.

Only if they are travelling internationally, otherwise child doesn't require id for domestic travel.

no she don't all you need is her birth certificate and you need a id for prof of that she your lil girl if you don't take my answer than call Anny air line and ask its that easy
