Lose the labels!
I just see people!

I'm not sure because I'm not familiar enough with spiritualism. Calling yourself an atheist says something about your belief in deities. Specifically that there aren't any. Does calling yourself a spiritualist have anything to say about that? Does spiritualism require a belief in a deity? If it does, then calling yourself a atheistic spiritualist would be a contradiction in terms, and oxymoron. If it doesn't, then it's no different than someone calling them self... let's say... a caucasian christian. They may both be true. One has nothing to do with the other and you might wonder why they put the two together in one sentence, but that doesn't mean it's not accurate.

An atheist just doesn't believe in gods. A spiritualist is a null label- they don't need gods, just spirituality, which is another null label.
Actually, in my experience, many atheists are just anti-monotheists, since their reasons to not believe in a god are 100% centered around not believing in the god of Abraham.

You can be an Atheist and a Buddhist. You could be an Atheist and a Satanist well LaVeyan Satanist. You could be Atheist and a Pagan or you can just be Atheist. They are all just labels after all. They shouldn't affect the way people interact with one another.

Avoid labels, they let others prejudge. Let your answers and questions show what you are.
And sadly Mr. Mayor, don't expect much support in here for your journey ... this is becoming a nastier forum in just the three weeks I've been here.
People will shoot anything they don't want to think about.

the name spiritualist does imply a following of the religion
however one does not have to be a spiritualist to believe in spirit
one does not have to believe in God either to believe in spirit
and labels dont matter at all....
I simply use spiritualism to best describe my beliefs
we discussed the God issue though and again we found it was only terminology that differs
but spiritualism does include a belief in God ... it does not tell you what God should be to you though

I know the christians have stolen the word*spirituality* but we all know they are not spiritual. Some spiritual atheists call themselves Humanists or Buddhists, i see nothing wrong with spiritual atheist, except that the christians have tainted the word with thier ignorance.

We could all get along if we all did not try to force any idiotic religious dogma on this world through laws and intolerance.

To answer the original question, I would say "enlightened".
To speak to your point, yes, labels are often useless.
