My sister is moving in with us for the summer. My sister is 18 and will be living with us until she gets an apartment for college. I live in a three bedroom, two bath house and have two kids. My kids are 2 and 10 months right now. My sis will be moving in in June. Should I have her share a room with my daughter (10 months) or son (2 years) or put the two babies together in one room and give her a room of her own? Moving the kids into our room isn't an option since the dogs sleep in our room. They tend to make noise and I'm not kenneling them overnight. And NO I'm not putting the dogs ahead of my kids.

since the kids are so young it wouldn't hurt to let them bunk for a while. If they were older I'd have to say no. I'm sure your sis would appreciate a little privacy whil she is your guest. I understand about the dogs, I don't think your putting them above your kids, you just don't want the dogs to wake the kids, completely understandable...

I would put the kids together. I have a 3 year old son and an 18 month old daughter who shared a room up until last August. My son will still climb out of bed and go sleep on the floor in his sister's room sometimes if she wakes up and we don't hear her. (His room is closer to hers than ours is).

You'll find a way to make it work...after Katrina, my husband and I lived in a 2 bedroom apartment and I had just come home from the hospital from having my daughter (got home the day before the storm hit). So my aunt and her two boys lost their house in New Orleans, so we had in the living room my aunt's 2 older boys (10 and 6), then my aunt slept in my son's toddler bed in one bedroom, and my husband, me, and my son shared a double bed in our room and my new baby was in a bassinet in our bedroom. Cramped, but we made it work, so I'm sure you can, too.

The last thing I would do is disrupt the babies routines. You could be headed for a load of trouble. Babies dont like change, and the new surroundings for them may make it more hard for them to adjust. By the time they get used to it, your sister will be gone and you have to do it all over again when you put them back into their rooms. Why not give your sister a closet and dresser in one of the rooms and let her sleep on the couch? Or, put her in one of the rooms with one of the babies. But, I would leave the babies where they are. My sister slept on my couch for over a year. May not have been the ideal situation, but she still had a roof over her head!

put her in with ur 10 month old daughter. because your son is at the age where he probably likes having the space of his own room. It will be easier not to disturb the routine of a ten month old, than a two year old. make sure you try to keep the 10 month old on the same schedule as well and explain to your sister that this is how it should be.

Your sister can sleep on the couch. You are doing her a favor and you should not be disrupting your kids lives in order to do so. If she refuses to sleep on the couch have her go live with someone else.

Good luck!

Put the kids together...they are both young. Hopefully your sister will help out with the kids and around the house.

Let her sleep on the couch, that should motivate her to quickly find her own place.
