Me and my siblings all live about as far from Chicago as is possible, but our parents want to have their 50 year party there since most of our relatives and lots of family friends live there. We don't want to do a banquet since we're so far away and really don't know how many people are going to show up, we'd rather find a good restaurant that has a private room. That way if 80 people decide to show up, fine, but if only 20 show up also fine. We don't want to have to worry about coming up a fixed number, whoever shows up, shows up and orders whatever they want. A place that would do some kind of buffet might work.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Ed Debevick's looks good to me, but my parents and Chi relatives are a little more formal. A LITTLE more, I don't think they'd go for burgers or pizza, but it doesn't have to be a 5 star restaurant either. Something like Olive Garden is probably the level we're looking for, just want to know what else besides chains are out there in Chicagoland.

Eds: That's how people in cults talk! :o All I can suggest, my friend, is that you study and strive to understand the meaning of 1 John 4:1-3..... Now back to Chicago restaurants?

Wow India and South Africa.... It would be great! We actually did think about doing something private maybe out of the country for the immediate family, but my parents want to be with the whole family and unfortunately many of them are afraid to fly or leave the country.

1) La Villa (Italian) on the corner of Addison & Pulaski. Not too far West of Wrigley Field.

2) Dover Straits (Seafood & Steak) with 2 suburban locations.

May be a special treat to add a Limo for them to & from.
Happy 50th to them.

There's a nice little Italian restaurant on Taylor Street (near the intersection of Taylor and Racine) called Rosal's.
You can reserve the second floor of the restaurant, but I don't think that would be quite big enough to seat 80.

My son's birthday is on the tip of the month, and that i bypass interior the process the comparable subject with acquaintances and relatives which you're. i in my view don't understand the facination with a newborn's 1st celebration...that's in contrast to we will not do something. we could have deepest cake and present time afterall. Realistically, a a million twelve months previous won't respond properly to a protracted drawn out occasion. I determine one hour max, and that must be presents, consume, cake finished. that's in simple terms too overstimulating to have maximum of folk and interest unexpectedly. back, i do no longer see the huge deal....on the present time is substantial to the 4 of you (2 infants, mommy and daddy). i replaced into the comparable way with my toddler bathe, i did no longer choose human beings to sense obligated to return or to purchase presents while they did no longer have money or something. you at the instant are not neglecting your responsibilities..and that i'm advantageous you're fantastic make sure. you're afterall thinking this by way of logically as a solid make sure could desire to. you have a lot of pictures and relaxing situations, in simple terms the 4 of you. savor and satisfied birthday to the twins!

What about Drury Lane West in Oak Brook Terrace? It's not Downtown Chicago, but they have the best buffet that I ever had.
It's located at Roosevelt and Route 83 (Kingery Hwy).
Good Luck!
