i am 5'4 weight 270 pounds. i really never tried hard to lost the weight because somehow i always seemed to get the most beautiful women in my life. i think i carry the weight better than others. i know it is not healthy and i really want to get fit. currently i can reach 7ft without jumping and 8ft 6 inches when jumping. considering my weight and height is that a good leap? i wonder if i lose like 70 pounds, becasue i dont want to be too skinny, if i will be able to make that 8ft 6 a 10ft 6 inches leap so i can dunk on a basketball rim. has anyone lost a lot of weight and was able to jump a lot higher afterwards? also i am 22yrs old and i wonder about sagging skin after losing the weight, is there a way to avoid that.

this message is for Zandelia, i appreciate your opinion, people like you motivate me. i have been a pimp since i was about 17yrs old, beautiful women have always flocked to me, and worked hard for their daddy. Being a pimp, nothing is cool about it, we get a bad rep, i never would hurt would of my girls or put em on drugs, everything they do is by will, not force. i am going to college now and i am trying to give up the game slowly but surely.

Well I can imagine you'd be able to jump a bit higher, but jumping 3.5 feet above your reach is very difficult to do no matter who you are. I can think of 2 people that I've ever heard of that could, but that said, it isn't impossible necessarily.
At only 22, sagging skin is really not an issue if you lose the weight at a healthy and regular pace. Just cutting out artificial sugars, and eating a bit less will almost certainly do that for you. The elasticity of skin at 22 is still impressive. I think you find that problem more in the 30's and up.
Best of luck!

I think that if you lose weight you will be able to jump higher because that's less weight you are getting up of the ground. If you jump rope and do other exercises that strengthen your calf muscles you will jump higher. As far has the skin issue, as you are losing the weight make sure that you are toning your muscles by lifting weights. If you are trying to lose weight just focus on that for now and worry about your skin when you get to that point.

You cannot avoid sagging skin if you have been obese for a long time. Only through surgery.
Your skin will shrink a bit but not completely. You don't want to build too much muscle because that is not healthy either.
Eat sensibly, exercise regulary (daily) and drink plenty of water.
My basketball coach in high school was 6' and 400lbs and he could dunk a basketball. It's not your weight so much as your condition.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Ok, here's the thing. You are morbidly obese and that is the reason you need to lose about 130 lbs. NOT to jump higher. You aren't playing sports (not at that weight), so why would you need to jump anyway?
Get your butt out there and EXERCISE and stop eating so much.
You should weigh about 140 lbs. if you are 5'4".

yes, join a team of asian sports, they are very good for your body, those I can't say the same about the soul.
I reccomend aikido for energy control, but if you want to try each practice jump, go to taikwondo, which main practice consists in jumping , it's fun and in time you will surely jump higher even without diet.

yes you will be able to jump higher, and i think that's good jump for your current height , but if you try to exercise that fat off and have a good diet it would be easier to jump and you could also jump higher because you could get stronger exercising but ,i don't recommend liposuction, and sorry i dont know any ways to get rid of sagging skin.

if you work out more, you would be able to jump higher...because weight has nothing to do with muscle strength..you can be 250lbs and only have like 6% body fat, it varies...but yeah, losing weight will help, as well as strength training
