War on Global warming doesn't involve bombing somebody ! It means cutting down on our energy consumption.
Do you really think there is an endless store of oil under the ground and the seas ? Its drying up fast and its easy to ignore global warming and climate change sitting in the US. Visit Asia where droughts and floods kill millions.

The point in Al Gore's campaign is that WE ARE ALREADY HARMING THE EARTH, and that he would like the country's support in making it stop. I agree with your ideology to a point, but I think you got it backwards from the stand-point that whatever Al Gore recommends we do is going to harm the earth.
I do feel that whatever phenomenon going on with the earth is a cycle and that we shouldn't worry so much about the earth as much as how we as humans can adapt to it. There have been many ice ages, so therefore there has been many periods of global warmth. Just because we don't have the capacity to see this, doesn't mean something must be done. Another thing is, Al gore is using all of this as a campaign to be President. It's the only platform he has left to stand on.

Exactly, Al Gore is just kind of pop star repeating in simple terms complicated scientific theories.
You might have read from my previous post that ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS HAVE TO BE TAKEN ANYWAY SINCE:
- energyy independance is needed to stop funding terrorist friendly states
- reduce the pollution caused by coal (acidification, mercury, and so on...) which has a high cost for the society
- we need to be fair and share with the future generations and let also them have natural resources they can use... they have the right to have the same opportunities we had. It would be unfair to end the western civilization just because we´re too selfish and want NOW the maximum just for ourselves
- the CO2 level is causing itself an acidification of the oceans which threatens an ecosystem covering 70% of the earth surface. Do you have children ? do you want to let them the possibility to eat lobsters in the future ?
For all those reasons, wether global warming is happening or not, we have to change anyway our relation to the environment....

I'm living in a pretty darned cold area right now and it seems hard to see any evidence of global warming. My toes and fingers are always numb for 6 months of the year!
The earth has always undergone the physical changes that we are seeing. We simply don't have enough recorded history to document it. I feel that we are hearing (as always) people with an agenda. I'd like to see someone put the facts out there and let us make educated decisions.
If Al Gore was so worked up about it he would shut down some of the power in that huge estate he lives in. I have read that he uses more power in ONE DAY than the average household uses in a month. He has always been a nimrod and the Hollywood people that gave him an Academy Award are just as dense.
Let intelligent people make their own decisions. I can handle it. I'm sure most others can too. I just want the facts, not one man's opinion. Opinions are like @--holes: everyone has one and nobody wants to hear yours.

Global warming science has nothing to do with Al Gore. He's just an actor saying what scientists have discovered.
The problem with global warming is that our modern society and agriculture is terribly vulnerable to climate change.
Flooding will destroy a lot of things we've built along the coasts. Changes is precipitation and temperature will severly damage agriculture.
We can cope, but it will cost us hundreds of billions of dollars and wreck our economy.

it is very very obvious that global warming is occurring. for example in maine alone where i live, it has snowed three or four times in the past 4 months, and maine normally snows ALOT! at a Marine animal rehabilitation center, in one week almost every seal died there from sickness, seals from the different parts of the ocean, not native to maine are ending up here because of weather changes. there has been tons and tons of tornadoes this year, massive snow storms in the mid-west yet non in the north. hurricane's all over, huge hail storms. Glaciers melting faster than normal. it's coming, we can stop it, no one wants to though.
mother earth will take back what's hers with or without our help.
as it is we use too much of earths fossil fuels when there is many cleaner and inexpensive ways to run cars and such, (ELECTRIC CAR) ya know? and supposedly this global warming will cause another ice age. i'm moving down south.
