Am I the only one who finds this really confusing. If God made man to love Him, then why bother with all this other crap! Honestly, he could have just made up some kind of spirit that does this or a spirit that always makes the "good choice" so that it still wouldn't just be forced to love him, which is what all the christians say to defend against their religion being totally rejected. If God is so powerful, why does he even need or want to endure love, a purely primitive and human endeavour. Obviously this God is more like a human than a being, and dont give me the whole in his own image bull. We are physical! God could have just as easily ignored the physical being part and just made us spirits or souls without form, but with the same purpose and this would not change anything for God, but he didn't did he? Oh and one last thing. Dont tell me to stop questioning god, because I am and if he is so powerful you would not be reading such a critical question.

Obviously those beliefs are man-made. A true God would not do that. A true God does not punish us for not believing, or threaten us in any way.

Free will man. God did not make us to be robots. He wants us to freely love him. Now, if you have a wife, do you want your wife to Love you because she does or because she's scared of you. What's the point in fearing someone into loving you, and even though people distort God's word about Fearing the Lord, that's more of a Reverancing Him, as He is the Almighty God and the only one who can judge us fairly.

Actually, if you don't believe in Him, fine. Nobody can make you. What I don't get is why you're having such a fit if you don't even believe? Not very logical. I don't question why God gave us free will, because it seems to be a nuisance, and we're not smart enough to handle it, yet it wasn't up to me.

i dont understand why it is said that we go to hell when we do not believe in god... i just cannot imagine god as being so cruel as to punish those who do not believe in somehting they have never set eyes on. I have trouble believing all of what is said in the bible and what is said in churches because i feel like i am listening to rumors that have been passed down since the beginning of time. I feel like religion is just a hoax sometimes. The pastor at my church said that if you do not believe in the god that christians belive in... then you ar going to helll... it makes it sound like a competition... as to whose god is real.... i mean what if i wanted to belive in buddah.... would i go to hell? I believe god is my comfort place... he is noone elses god... he is mine... for i have my own god.... i dont have to belive in anyone elses... he may not even be real... but it is nice to think about. My god does not send people to hell for somehting so trivial and pompous as faith.... he rewards for the things that we do good. i thank you for questioning god... i do too... and my god is ever changing. i hate people who shun people who question god... i think it is dumb not to... for noone knows what the truth is... and noone is wrong in what they believe. so yeah... i am sorry... ai m rambling. ok well i hope i made sense... i was kind of on a tangent throughout this... and i am sorry :) ok well i hope i helped...

That was not HIS sole purpose. It was because HE loved us that HE created us in HIS image. And HE also knew that there would be people just like you denying HIS existence. Jesus said so, that we would be cursed because of our belief in HIM. Did you ever stop to think that your anger is what is keeping you from HIM?

You shouldn't. You should believe in whatever feels right to you. Look into your heart and soul, and whatever truth you find there, it's your truth and yours alone. No one has the right to tell you that your truth isn't valid, so long as you aren't trying to force them to believe in your truth. God speaks to all people individually, and if your heart tells you that there's no way God would create us just to worship him/her, then that's God speaking to you.
