I know that the Wedding March is played as the bridal party walks down the aisle, but what song is played when the bride walks down the aisle? Is it a part of the Wedding March or is it another song altogether?

Here's a better link. I think what you looking for are Wagner's "Here Comes the Bride" and Pachelbel's "Canon in D" (two different songs...)

You can play whatever you want. The traditional rules are pretty much gone. Here's an example: When my wife and I were married, the organist played Pachelbel's Canon in D Major while the wedding party marched down the aisle (that piece is very popular at weddings). She didn't want to march down the aisle to the traditional "Here Comes the Bride" so instead she marched down the aisle to the Prince of Denmark's March, a.k.a. Trumpet Voluntary (she has a friend who plays trumpet). When we were done, instead of the recessional from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" we exited to an organ rendition of Psalm 19 called "All the Heavens Declare." Talk to the organist or whoever is doing your music and tell them what you want. If you really want the traditional music that won't be a problem, but if you want something different they can give you suggestions.

I got married without the wedding march playing, I just hated that song:), I had a bach song instead, you can play whatever you want but usually the song with you walking out of the church or back with your now husband is not the wedding march. I had a friend sing a song that she had prepared as I walked back down the aisle. Usually not the wedding party, just the bride, because change in music signals that something important is happening. Congratulations

The Wedding March is played only for the Bride. I used a really pretty version of the Wedding March, it was just a little different. Here is a link to listen to it... scan down the page some until you get to the links to listen to the songs. It's the first one (Wedding March [Lohengrin]). http://www.amazon.com/Wedding-Favorites-Johann-Sebastian-Bach/dp/B00004Y6T1/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-0536660-4716128?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1173120153&sr=8-1

That doesn't mean you have to use the Wedding March (any version). You can use something else, but make sure it's only when you walk down the aisle. The wedding party should walk down the aisle to a different tune. I used Canon in D for my maid of honor (the only attendant I had).

"Here Comes the Bride" tune is the Wedding March.

I'm sorry I don't really know the answer to your question; however, many people have a different song played. For example, my friend is getting married in Oct. and is going to play "A whole new world" for her walk down the aisle. My fiance wants me to walk down the aisle to "walk this way"- Which is NOT going to happen by the way. I think it is better to play a special song- it personalizes your wedding ceremony.

For the bridal court it can be the wedding march..But when you come down the isle you can play a very romantic song to express your feelings towards your hubby to be ...like Rascal Flats..God Bless the Broken Road...or From This Moment From Shania Twain...etc. Congrats and have fun!!

I have heard everything from the traditional music, the wedding march, marachi music and even a couple of pop songs like "she's drop the bomb on me". It is your choice, go with what YOU want.
