When we first got married my husband & I used our target gift cards to buy some really great looking dishes. However, a year later they are falling apart all at once. Almost all of them are chipped around the edges and there's a crack making its way across the plates! And I've always hand washed them! We need new durable dishes for everyday use that wont crack or chip on us. Ones that will last more than a year. But, we're also on a budget! thanks for your ideas!

Get some Corelle dishes. They are very durable but they are lightweight. I have used corelle for years and they have never chipped cracked or anything. You can buy Corelle at Wal Mart. It is not real expensive. You can start out with a place setting for 4 and add to it. It is pretty too. Good for everyday but pretty enough for company.

Corelle dishes last and are good for the price. They come with a three year chip and break warranty. They usually start around $20-$30 per set.

I have always purchased Martha Stewart Dishes. They're a bit spendy but we've had them for over 7 year, and they're not chipped, cracked or scratched. Plus the design on the plates have not faded, or washed away.

Oh yes indeed I totally agree with the Corelle dish ware. If you really need a bargain,,,,,,,,,,try your local Goodwill and Thrift Stores,,,,,,,,A little bleach washing and you are set to go. They have amazing bargains to choose from. Good Luck !! Besides a tag sale is always an adventure .

Corelle dishes are great.
Practically indestructible, very affordable, and they've got some really nice designs now. Plus you can get pratically your whole kitchen coordinated, they've got glasses, placemats, even clocks with matching designs!
