I have fried some thin chicken strips in olive oil, but you have to take care oil oil has a lower burning point than most oils and can catch fire very easy. You have to make sure that you are cooking it on a lower heat. It did taste a little better, more of a clean taste, You can also use peanut oil to achieve the same thing and not worry about burning everything:-)

I fry breaded chicken in olive oil and it's much better than regular oil. You just have to adjust the temperature. Olive oil doesn't need to be quite as hot. I also would only fry boneless chicken in olive oil. The thicker stuff takes a lot longer and the oil may begin to smoke. Extra virgin olive oil tastes the best.

I always pan-fry with extra virgin olive oil. It's the only kind of oil I have in my pantry. I never deep fry though. I just put a tablespoon or two of the oil on the pan. Then, I place chicken breast or strips on it. I always flatten the chicken beforehand so it will cook faster. If you're dealing with drumstick, thighs or anything with bones and are thicker, you can brown them but continue cooking or baking the chicken in the oven. I think that's what they do on tv cooking shows like Barefoot Contessa. And, Rachel Ray always uses EVOO.
Taste is great. If you have a really nice olive oil, you can taste the difference.

It all depends on what you are cooking. I personally would use olive oil for pastas, salad dressings and maybe some fish. The taste of Olive oil is very strong and can be very over-powering. If you receipe is Chinese/Thai/Indian the preffered oil would be Peanut/Groundnut oil, as this has a very delicate flavour. A good all rounder is vegtable or sunflower oil. Happy cooking.

No and you shouldn't deep fry anything in olive oil. It has a low smoking point.
Sauteeing chicken in olive oil is better.

Olive oil has a very low smoking point and is not really good for frying food.

Don't do it! Olive oil is very flammable. You could easily start fires getting it up to that temperature.
