I was driving 75 mph down I-40 on Saturday and suddenly, and without warning my car started shimmying and I pulled over, when I tried to get going again, it wouldn't go into gear. It seemed as though it was stuck in neutral, because all it would do is roll...there was a recall on the 2001 Dodge Stratus for this problem, would I be able to take it to any dealer if this is the problem???

Take it to the dealer and get the problem fixed the correct way, which would be trading the Stratus in for a better car. We have had nothing but problems with the Stratus. The next problem you may incur with this car is the ECU will fail, then the CV joints go bad, then the rear bearings will need replacement and the brakes will need replacement at the same time. By this time, you will have spent about as much as you purchased the car for in the first place.

Yes, any Chrysler, Dodge, or JEEP dealer should be able to perform the recall. Of course, if it's a stand-alone JEEP dealer, they're less likely to have the parts in stock.

If you take it in, and it happens to be something else, they will let you know what it will take to fix it. If you decline repairs, expect to pay a diagnostic fee for them to check it out.
