no.. it will not.
The lid acts to keep the steam in the crock which aids in the cooking process.
Do you have a lid from another pan that comes close to fitting the crock pot? Use that if you do... or you can try a plate wrapped in foil so you have little bunny ears to pull the plate off the crock.

The lid is critical in using a crock pot. If you don't have one you should make one. You can use anything. Try to fit another pan on the top. You can use anything that will give a fairly solid seal. Be creative and you won't be sorry. The lid is a must-have.

If you have any other lid that fits even close to the crock pot lid use it, if not use a piece of doubled foil.

As the others have said it won't work. What you can do is use heavy duty foil and seal it or if you have another pan with the same size lid use that lid.
The foil will work - I've used it in similar situations.
Hope the roast comes out well.

I doubt your roast will be done in a week without a lid. You need the lid on to keep in the heat & moisture. You might be able to put foil tighly around the top of the cooker to make a "lid".

I misplaced mine once and used aluminum foil. I finally found it. Make sure the foil bends down a little in the middle so that the steam condenses and falls back into the roast and not down the sides of the crock pot.

I'm afraid it will not work without some sort of a lid.
But something like Aluminum Foil MIGHT work if you can get a tight enough seal. I would avoid plastic wrap as it could melt too easily.
Good Luck

I'd use a large plate or platter for the lid. With foil underneath it first to keep the steam in. Anything's possible with a little creativity.

The roast will cook just fine with out the lid, it will just slow down the cooking process and may tend to splatter the juices .
