Sounds like she may have excema. Try something like Neutrogena, or a smoothing childrens shampoo. You may want to check with the pediatrician though.

Try using a shampoo which is very mild and refrain from using head and shoulders. Try Johnson and Johnsons' baby shampoo or the one available for kids with coconut extract at it will be totally harmless for your daughters scalp. Also, you must consult a dermatologist if the condition is really severe. Again, in the international Dove's range of shampoo there is one available for dry hair and scalp. Try one of those if you get them from some good cosmetic shop. Leave your daughters scalp well oiled with coconut oil for at least an hour before getting her hair shampooed.

My daughter has really sensitive skin and scalp when she was baby I could only use Aveeno shampoo and body wash well she is 7 now and started using hello kitty shampoo and the same thing happened to her. My husband and I both use the balancing shampoo from Arbonne first because I became a consultant but now because we love it. When my daughter started having this problem again I tried Arbonne's Balancing shampoo with TEA TREE Oil in it. she loves it and her hair is so soft. but most importantly the flakes are gone and the itching has stopped. You can go to www.thewayback.myarbonne.com and go under shop online to look at the product.

You should try a shampoo called Biolage by Matrix. You can get it in hair salons and some drug stores. It's really nice and gentle and the one I have soothes my scalp. Something else that will work is after shampoo, towel drying and combing hair massage your daughter's scalp with aloe vera gel for 10-15 minutes. Aloe vera gel is wonderful for all kinds of hair and scalp conditions and it helps keep your scalp moisturized and hair healthy.

She may have developed a skin condition like psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis.
1- pH-balanced shampoo:: which you can buy from pharmacies
2- Some antihistamines used for allergies contain anti-itching ingredients that may provide temporary relief from itchy scalp
3- Olive oil does seem to have a soothing effect on some cases of dry, itchy scalp,
4- Make a date with your dermatologist

break out the health insurance...she should be seen by a doctor. she may have lice or any number of infestations. If a M.D. visit is not an option, try the school nurse. they are very familar with things that crawl through little scalps!

take her to a dermatologist, she may be allergic to the something which may be the actual cause of the dryness and itchiness. It could be a fungus, and if it worsens her hair could fallout.
