What does the navy rate AOM3 signify?

My great-uncle, who served in the navy and the marines, has this listed on his headstone. I'm curious as to what position this is.

Aviation Ordnanceman (Missles) Third Class Petty Officer. This is no longer a rate in the Navy. In today's Navy your Uncle would be an AO3.
