There is no "better" color for a wedding in a vacuum. What's "better" depends on so many things: the kind of wedding you plan on having (formal, semi-formal, etc.); the time of day applicable; the setting/location; the time of year; your personality; the kind of mood you're trying to invoke; your personal taste.

For instance, if you're planning a black-tie only affair that will be held on a Saturday night at a very formal location with a live band playing "Frank Sinatra" type music, black, gold, or silver would be excellent choices (assuming they fit your taste/personality, etc.), whereas light blue probably wouldn't go nearly as far to invoke the right mood. On the other hand, if the wedding is a Sunday brunch, at a less formal place (which doesn't by any means less *nice*...just not so formal)....where there's plenty of views of the outdoors or part of the wedding is outdoors....in the spring....then yellow, light purple, pale green, or light blue would be great colors....whereas red, black, gold, or silver would likely seem out of place.

You should also consider: what do you picture the bridal party wearing? Some colors sound great in the abstract but when you see a bridal party decked out in it...not so nice. Also, what kind of flowers do you have in mind? Are there any colors integral to the wedding location? Etc.

Good luck!

I gold could be pretty if it's done right...
I've seen red and purple too many times...
Pale green is different...

My picks are pale green or gold...
the guys with an all black tux with a gold tie...no cumber-buns...the same with pale green...

I'm just thinking what would look good for the bridesmaid/groomsmen and the reception table...

Gold
It's an elegant color and it stands out. Plus, this color is very popular this season. It's also very easy to decorate with this color. A friend of mine just had a sweet 16 and the reception looked so beautiful in gold!

My colors were Red & Silver for my wedding. It was very pretty, but we got married right before xmas.
Figure out the time of year you are getting married and go with the appropriate colors. If summer -- light blue & silver or gold.

Good Luck & Congrats!

I went to a wedding where all the girls wore the same dress but in different shades of purple. It was beautiful. I have also heard of each girl wearing black but picking their own style dress. So you don't have to just have one color. My favorites are black and purple

i think let's forget gold and silver because it's for special occasion:it will be your motif for your 25th anniversary (for silver) and gold for 50 years wedding anniversary so let's just reserve that color.

>if your personality is strong i suggest a red color. i haven't seen a wedding with red motif because they're rare... but it's so elegant and colorful.
>for black? it's like you're mourning for somebody... but it's elegant too...
>for yellow: if your personality is lively and open you can use this motif...
>purple: this is one of the good color because it's in the light hues... but it's hard to find the color for this especially for the color of the flowers.
>light purple: maybe same with purple... (it's just lighter) but i think this will make a good motif for the wedding.
>pale green: if your personality is friendly. this is an "easy color" because it's always available. i saw a couple with this motif and it really looks good!
>light blue: perfect for beach wedding... if your personality is calm and you always want peace and serenity.
>for me, my fave color is pink: i just want to give you an idea of my ideal wedding. i want to wear pink and my bridesmaid would wear green (family of green... it's either light or darker) and the groom would wear white. for the groomsmen they would wear brown. because it's like i'm the rose and my groom and the bridesmaid and the groomsmen would be the leaves and the branches... i haven't seen a wedding like this i just imagine it...

>but it's all up to you. because it's better to choose a color that matches who you really are.

Depends on what color would bring out your eye and hair color the best. I do suggest that whatever color you choose, it be light, so don't choose red or black. Also, don't do yellow unless you're doing pale yellow.

well I thought u had to have 2 colors for weddings?
I like pastels.. maybe a mint green and light sky blue?
or if ur bold: gold and maroon?
Colors have alot to do w/ time of wedding too. Winter/fall is more dark bold colors, spring/summer soft pastel colors are more cool and fresh they please the eye and bring in warmth or freshness, to the ceremony.

it all depends on ur wedding theme or u dont have a theme the colour should be one that describe the type of love that exist in ur relationship. the colour should be telling others that this is what love can feel like eg. blue (calm, peace) red (hot, raging) black ( experience and hardship) gold (radiance power) silver (shiny, everlasting) etc.
