Are there any helping 'man'? I will have no problem standing corrected if wrong here, but I can't think of any helping 'man' directly.

As 'Suzanne' points out, I am looking for atheist organizations involved in philanthropy - specifically benefiting mankind. I agree there are all kinds of secular organizations - not the same thing.
Not intended as a jab, but honestly can't find one, or think of one, and wonder why not?

I don't think this question goes to an ego - although I may be wrong - just interested if there are any organizations out there - judging from how it is taking to get an answer to the question, I guess everyone is having the same trouble.

Atheist and Humanist organizations are primarily educational groups and fairly small. I undertand a c0ouple f the grousp sent Katrina relief, but American Atheists isn't even close to the size of a small religious denomination. from my vewipoint there are so many worthwhile philanthropic organizations that are not church affiliated, so why duplicate their efforts? I've taught self defense at the YWCA, First Aid and CPR for the Red Cross, volunteered in prison programs, and I support a number of other worthwhile causes for humans, with the bulk of my charitable donations going to scholarships and for therapeutic programs for children with autism and cerebral palsy. Considering non-believers comprise less than 3% of the population I wouldn't expect to see atheist hospitals and universities.

There aren't any at all. There used to be an oganization called "Atheist Charities," but surprise, surprise, they were exposed as a scam: http://atheism.about.com/b/a/156865.htm
P.S. -- "NHBaritone," you've listed secular organizations. The asker wants the names of ATHEIST organizations -- in other words, orgs that specifically state in their charters that they are made up of atheists who wish to spread goodness, cheer and whatnot.

Just because people don't believe in a god or don't have a religion does NOT mean they are devoid of any morality or incapable of doing good for the sake of humanity.
Some of you fundies are in dire need of ego checks. I really hope you get them soon.
Have a great day.

Atheists only serve their own interests and, as such, are ibncapable of doing any thing that would benefit anone save themselves and their continuing perpetuation of ignorance, deceit, and delay in the evoultion of human spirituality--- exclusively their own evolutionary process, and when all is said and done then they will find themselves among the meek who shall inherit the earth ( material and incredibly limited in the realm of true power ), enslaved forever in the consciousness of their own self-obsessions
