WAX! You can go have it done, or you can buy a facial waxing kit at walmart (Sally Hensen) It doesn't really hurt. Whatever you do, do not shave it! Or you could bleach it with a creme esp. for faces.

I've had this same problem for years. I have both tweezed and waxed the hair on my upper lip. With both, I've never gotten the 5 o'clock shadow or doscoloration. Hair just grows back in slowly since waxing and tweezing pull it out from the root. I usually tweeze my lip about once a month and have the waxing done about 2 times a year. It costs like $15 at the salon I go to....so I only have it done before I go on vacations and such.

You should wax it. It gets rid of the hair, doesn't grow back as fast if you were to shave it (only men shave facial hair) and tweezing the hair, ouch and too much time. Waxing it is faster and isn't pricey at all. You could go to hair salons, or buy kits. I personally go for the salon, they use aloe and other things to prevent the lip from breaking out and getting red.
Good luck!

Hi
The best thing to do is wax it. You can buy little ready to use wax strips from stores for this. Its very quick and easy to do and will last around 6 weeks before you start to notice it coming back.
Its not that painful just a quick pain but it gets less n less each time its done.
You could get it done at a salon for fairly cheap too.
I wouldnt reccomend tweezering or shaving. It could grow back really blunt looking.

Yeah wax does work but there is also pain involved. I have the same problem and after waxing I would always break out so I started using a Sally Hansen Creme Remover and you just let it sit for a few minutes (about 5-7mins) and wipe off. It really works!

Waxing works best. After waxing you might get little red bumps on your upper lip. Purchase hydro cortisone cream, this will help with the inflammation that causes that. You can shave too but waxing lasts longer. Shaving will not cause your hair to grow in darker or heavier, that's an old wives tale. If you have darker skin/olive colored bleaching it will be visually not attractive. If you skin is lighter this will be OK. "Store" brand bleaches are cheaper than name brand and they are the same.

i recommend both waxing & bleaching it. Now a days nail salons offer waxing to, but if you are too embarassed. You can get the Sally Hansen waxing kit from Target or Walmart. They have these strips where you rub between your hands to warms up, peel & place on the area needing wax & pull. Its not to bad & that lasts about 5-6 wks or so & when u see a lil hair growin back, bleach until they fully grow back & repeat the waxing process. Good Luck

Waxing is going to be the easiest option. I would suggest you go to a salon with an aesthetician, you'll get a better job done out of it.
Depending on your budget, you could also look into thermolysis. It's different than electrolysis and gives better results, and much more permanent hair removal.

What ever you do, do not shave your mustache. Oh my gosh, my mother so lied to me when she told me to use a dry razor. Now I am 55, almost 56, I have a dark mustache. I pluck mine, a bit of obsessive compulsive behavior on my part.
Waxing never worked well for me, but I have thought about going to have it done professionally. But, that's expensive and I already have a good tweezer and 10X mirror.

Yes you can tweeze your upper lip hair and you will not get a 5o'clock shadow and it will not look green. Do not shave it I would advice you to get it waxed or go to sally's and buy wax that you can do at home.
It will not damage you skin only if you pinch your self or get the wax to hot then it can burn you.

Waxing is a good way to deal with it but make sure you use a good moisturiser because waxing over years can cause your skin to shrivel up like your fingers when you come out of the bath. If you can afford laser or electrolysis then that is the best way.
