Sorry, NO. Black is a color of mourning and the people at the wedding might get offended about it.... you know superstitions and all of that.
If you can accessorize it with something white maybe a jacket or a shawl and matching shoes... to make it appear brighter then yes...but otherwise it's a big no unless you know they have a BLACK theme.
If you dont' mind them not inviting you ever again ..... go for it LOL

In this era we can get away with nearly everything! Go ahead and wear that black dress! You added brown and that will help it look more elegant. Maybe accesorize with a bit of color to keep it playful and not a downer. Use bright earrings, lipstick and a necklace. Carry a bright purse to accent the black. No one will care and if they do, they need to remember it's the bride and groom they should be looking at, not you!! Have Fun!

for a evening wedding ceremony, black is super. in simple terms positioned on some vivid colored shoes and maybe an same scarf/shrug to enliven the outfit. colourful rings might additionally paintings. I wore black to a night wedding ceremony a month or so in the past specially because of the fact i replace into pregnant. My chum (the bride) did not suggestions in any respect.

The last wedding I attended in NY state, most of the women were in black. People commented about it, but not as if it were a social blunder. It really depends though on the type of people attending the wedding and whether you value their fashion opinions.

I'd only wear a black dress to a wedding if I didn't like one of the people who were getting married.
It would be a sign of mourning for the person getting stuck with a jerk or jerk(ette)

Perhaps I am old fashioned but I was always told that you never wear white to a funeral or black to a wedding.
