"Additionally, is it even possible for one human person to destroy a religion (or group of religions within the same umbrella) followed by 1.2 billion other humans?"
Good point. Actually you can see what the problem here is. A lot of people seem to think that atheism is some sort of cohesive group. Obviously we're not. I don't even know what you believe, except for one thing: You don't believe in any gods. I know that because you said you were an atheist, but I know nothing else about you. Do you believe in fairys? Magic? Ghosts? Souls? The flying spaghetti monster? I don't know any of these things, because saying you're atheist doesn't say nearly as much about you as many people would seem to like to believe. Thinking atheists are a cohesive, plotting group mases as much sense as thinking that all people who enjoy ham, cheese, honey mustard, on wheat bread sandwiches must all be in some sort secret order. Personally I'm not a fan of honey mustard, I prefer plain yellow. I hope my sandwich cabal isn't on bad terms with yours, I'd hate to have to send one of our super secret sandwich assassins for you, you seem like a nice enough fellow.

No; Christianity is not threatened by your questions, nor is it possible for one human to destroy a religion.
That said, I still contend (as I do with the topic of politics) that if a person is truly content within his/her philosophy (be it spiritual or political), then they should have no dominating motivation to poke virtual sticks at other philosophies. They can hand out pamphlets if they like, but beyond that it becomes a matter of aggressive prosyletizing, and I'm agin' it.

When one is unsure of what they believe, (read christian here), having for the most part only heard the marching orders from their pulpit, then yes - they will believe that one man could destroy it all. Afterall, it only took 12 men to build it.
When we stop asking questions, that's when it gets bad.
Remember, Jesus was arrested by the religious leaders of His day partly for asking too many questions and making people think.
Now the cheese - I have a milk allergy so maybe you're trying to get me....

I think it would take more than a sandwich to get religious followers to follow an atheist. Asking questions are not bad. That's how you learn. As the saying goes, I may not agree with what you say but I will always defend your right to say it. We could hang out if you left religion out of it!

I am currently eating my cheese and ham baked potato...
your words cannot destroy anything or anyone unless they allow it
I am probably the only spiritualist regular on here
if small groups could be put out by words I would have been long gone
I am going to enjoy my potato and ask and answer questions

Jim, people have tried to destroy Christianity on a regular basis ever since it was first begun. Nobody has succeeded to date, so I seriously doubt that you're going to be the one who accomplishes that feat.
Enjoy your sandwich, and bring some to share when we have the first annual R&S "Picnic and Organized Brawl" next week. I'll bring the potato salad and coleslaw.
P.S. Lots of honey mustard on my sandwich, please -- yum!

Good for you, Way to Go!!! Everyone tries to program others into believing what their religion teaches. G-d is not about religion, the way these cults run. G-d wants us to learn by questioning Him. Ask all the questions you want and you make your own choice when you get so many different answers as to what works for you.

No, I do not believe you are trying to destroy Christianity with this question.
The motives of the ham sandwich, however, are in question.
