I am trying to get a list of all the recently used documents list found in Windows profiles (c:\documents and settings\%username%\My Recent Documents). I need a list to help with transfering files from our company to another company the aquired part of our business. It would be very helpful if I could export that list or copy it in some way in to a spreadsheet to give us a better idea of what the users are accessing the most.

If you mean, the list of files: Go to Start, Run, cmd.exe, and at the prompt type dir "c:\documents and settings\%username%\my documents\" > c:\tmp.txt

Then you have a file called "c:\tmp.txt" that contains the output of the "dir" command, and you can diddle with (notepad, print, word, whatever...) as you wish

Not quite sure if this will help - but ......

Open Windows Explorer ....
Click on Local Disc (C:)
Select Documents and Settings
Select your user account
Then...

Click on Tools, on the menu bar select folder options and click 'show hidden files, and folders' - click ok

You should now see a new option called My Recent Documents...and you should see your recent documents list. That should give you a listing of the documents used and then you should be able to export the titles into a .txt file or copy list into a .txt file without the hyperlinks to the documents themselves.

Good Luck.
