I agree that actual counts are more helpful than you just telling us Low and High. I can give you general information based on actual low and high counts. A normal adult range of total neutrophils is 50-70% or 2500-7000. For segmented neutros (segs) 50-65% or 2500-6500. And for banded neutros (bands) it's 0-5% or 0-500. Segs are mature neutros, bands are immature neutros. For lymphocytes it's 25-35% or 1700-3500.

You haven't differentiated bewteen a total neutrophil count and that of segs. A decreased level of neutros can be a results of viral diseases, leukemias, agranulocytosis (can be caused by some medications), aplastic and iron deficiency anemias (both treatable). An increased lympho count can be a result of chronic and viral infections. Severe lymphocytosis (abnormally high number of lymphocytes) is commonly caused by lymphocytic leukemia.

But before you run off into the sunset convinced that you have cancer, speak to the doctor who ordered the test and find out what your labs signify.

What do you mean by high lymphs? Can you be more specific?

Edit:
Spot on that nurse. Also you might like to check that the results are the right way around...
But yes, a viral infection seems implicated.
