I'm a nurse. Are you referring to cortisone injections? If so cortisone is a steroid and shouldn't be taken often. Doctors give this injection to relieve pain in the persons joint. It has a numbing effect and can last up to a month. The problem with this is that the side effects are severe. Any form of steroid can put large holes into your bones (it eats away at the bone), and that's not good. If you get the shots make sure the doctor is using other methods as well for your safety. Raise in blood sugar
Increase in appetite
Weight gain, significant
Moon face
Hump on back, called "widows hump"
Acne
Facial hair
Stretch marks on abdomen
Infections
Depression
Fatigue
Insomnia
Night mania
Psychosis
Suicide

There are many more, these are the first to come to mind.

Like anything else, over use will lead to a lot of problems.
If on a reducing dosage and taken in moderation then should be okay. Abuse can lead to all kinds of health problems that can result in death.
