I strongly reccommend purchasing a VW new beetle convertible!! I have a 2007 convertible and I absolutely LOVE it! Its very reliable! I haven't had any problems at all with my beetle! I also had a 2001 new beetle, I also loved it! I never had a problem with my 01 either. I drove the hell out of my 2001, it was an awesome car!!
I'd definitely buy a new beetle again. I have NO regrets!!

Hi I have a 2003 silver beetle converitable and Ilove my car, but there are problems with the car. For instance, my coolant light went off twice already, the fuse was out so I had to take it in. that was covered bythe warranty, bothmy headlights went out on the very last day of the warranty, and now my tires are going so i am spending close to $400 replacing them, also this has=happened to alot of people who have convertiables, the wondows need to be lubed every once in a while.
The gas mileage is great, but it is a small car and packing things in it is diffcult. It being so small finding parking is usaully good, It runs great, but it is expensive to fix the bug.
I love my car and I want to keep it around for a long time. So I guess the money is woth it. Don't forget that when you get a car a car payment comes withit. Mine is $300 a month.

My recommendation is to lease, not buy. The warranty will cover any potential problems that may arise. This way you enjoy the car without long term worries. If at the end of the lease your car has not given you any problems, you still have the option to buy and keep it. Keeps more money in your pocket today.
If you love VDubs you will put up with any glitches, because they have been known to have them. Having said that, I have had problems with some of my VDubs but I love them so much that I cannot remember those problems after the immediate. On the other hand both I and my friends have had zero problems with other VDubs.
I say don't worry about potential problems, because they don't always happen. Just enjoy your car and if problems happen, just think of it as a great time to see your friendly salesperson :)

I would recommend to buy one. My wife has a 2001 Beetle and it has been a great little car. It is very reliable and great gas mileage. it is fun to drive for a smaller car.

IF YOU HAVE LIMITED RESOURCES I RECOMMEND COMPROMISING AND GOING WITH MOON ROOF. I OWN A 2006 NEW BEETLE WITH A MOON ROOF AND I LOVE IT. AS WITH ~ALL~ CARS THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM HERE AND THERE BUT THEIR SERVICE PEOPLE ARE GREAT! I HAVE NO REGRETS WITH MINE.

To be perfectly honest "v dub" has had unusual luck with her cars.Late model VWs are known as problematic at best,and are very expensive to repair or service.Buy a Corolla or Civic instead.
