papillions, mini dachsund, maltese, pekinese, pomeranian, shih tsu, silky terrier, toy poodle, yorkshire terrier (yorkie). I don't know how quiet these dogs would be, it really depends on the individual dog, but these dogs meet your given weight.

I don't know about 8-12 pounds but WalMart has shelves full of quiet,low maintenance soft dogs of all colors-designer colrs too!

No dog is going to be quiet unless you train him to be a good dog, so it is up to you my friend, but a great small dog is a papillion.

most dogs that size are not quiet. Most of the smaller dogs are very hyper

to start with most little dogs are not quiet, they are heard but not seen, lapalopso aare good dogs, not a noisey as other lil ones..

any dog that you go down to the dog pound and save from being gassed will be a good dog. my opinion

A miniture schnauzer. We have on and my kids love her. They don't shed and they are loveable and loyal
