its could just be some post surgery swelling. Very well could be a sight infection, Also could be more like a Hemotoma, a blood filled sack from a vein or something that wasnt properly cauterized. You need to call your vet now and have her go back in to have it asperated and cleaned out. On very few occasions a vet can accidently nick the mucsle wall during the proceedure, allowing intestine to come out, known as a spay hernia. Usually they fix that right away but sometimes its not caught when they sew them up. No matter what that is, the vet is the one that needs to look at it. SInce there is no garauntee with medicine or surgerys you may be charged for this, but if its on the fault of the vets I dont think you will need to pay for it.

To be on the safe side, consult the vet who did the surgery. A phone call to the vet will let you know if the cat needs another visit. Good luck!

One of my cat's inscisions got all swollen a day after the surgery also. We called our vet and he told us to watch it, and if it didn't get better within the next day or so, to bring her in. It ended up already going down by the next day. Maybe you could just call your vet and get his/her opinion?

It is most likely swelling and should go down. Give the vet a call and ask him if it is something serious.
