Eczema is not contagious. As has been mentioned, it can get infected. The itching can be most challenging. It goes through stages. Sometimes there are like watery bumps. The skin can break open get dry and cracked. It can be very difficult to treat, a dermatologist would be most helpful. I have had it and it took me nearly 2 years to get it under control. My worst areas were on my hands. I was so embarrassed by it and the reaction of some cashiers etc, that for a while I didn't do my own shopping. Many things can trigger it, for me it was contact with Ivory(yes, Ivory) hand soap, certain other cleaning agents and soaps. Safeguard (beige) works very well for me and for my sister who also has this frustrating problem. I also have to avoid using Bleach on my clothes and sheets. Over the counter hydrocortisone cream applied sparingly (it does have steroids) regularly as directly can take care of this for some people at first sign of outbreak. Identifing what triggers it in people is usually the best way to keep it under control once it is treated. My dermatologist got mine under control using a special light and antibiodics. I wish your friend good luck. Support from family and friends is helpful.

Eczema is not contagious. It's just a conditon of dry and flaky skin that often itches. There aren't any real complications to my knowledge, it's just annoying to the person who has it. It can be treated with prescription lotions and creams. I've also heard that oatmeal baths help. Some people get it at different stages of life...it can come and go over the years or may even disappear completely.

No its nto but its something that runs in her family even if her mom or dad dont have any problem with Eczema. Its nto something you can catch soem people get a small case of it others have it 100% over there body like my daughter. See I have a mild case of it and hers well hers is bad her hands are scared now cause of it and they look like a old mans hands. So tell your friend to take care of it cause it will casue perment damage to her skin. Now for you, you dont have to worry at all. Your friend has a skin irritation is all that she can control with meds and daily care. Most times a person with eczema has a allergy to animals or foods even little things like dust. So keep in mind that you can never get it unless it is in your family its is not something you catch like a cold.

You can still give her hugs.

No eczema is not contagious. It's a skin disorder that you get through genetic, you're born with it. It's like an allergy such as Hayfever.

Eczema is only contagious on the person who has it When they scratch it spreads. Plenty of water (drinkiing) helps control it by hydrating the body, Lubiderm lotion is a great lotion to help it too. No perfumed lotions. I also found A&D ointment helps hydrerate the skin.

i don't care how old this is but i have NEVER heard any song from a video game on the radio! i haevn't even heard songs from classic disney movies on the radio so i have to rely on online radio to hear them! the only songs on the radio r ones by popular singers that the record labels pay the stations to play im so sick of the same 5 songs in a row we need more variety & diversity with music on the radio! we need a non-online radio station dedicated to video games & classic disney music from everything up to the 90's im thinking like radio disney but only for old disney songs but it will never happen! people would rather hear the same old over-rated & popular top 40 songs! i will admit i do like some of the top 40 songs but we need more variety it sucks! this is why online radio exists!

,,,,,,,,excema, psoriasis, flaky skin,,,,,,,often this stuff is actually fungus, a careless physician will note your normal bloodwork, give you some kind of otc creme, paste or other innefective goop, and just blow ya off.a careful doc will scrape some samples into an envelope for lab exam & culture, and ,if fungus is the cause, will tell you to avoid beer, yeast, dairy, sugar for a couple weeks,,,,,,,,and......eliminate mold, fungus from your living space too unless your doctor does this, his treatment is sloppy, second rate..sometimes skin problems reflect an internal malignancy,or liver malfunction, tho more commonly,if it is a fungus problem,he mighta caught it in the school shower,,,,it does spread from person to person,,,,,,fungus is an opportunistic cooty-pathogen
